John MacNeil

Co-Founder

John MacNeil is a veteran of the film and television industry, with over 40 years of experience spanning production, advocacy, and leadership. His contributions to the entertainment world and his dedication to community service have made him a respected figure in both creative and professional circles.

Professional Career

John is the founder of Moody Street Pictures and Greenfield Production Services, both of which have played pivotal roles in the film and television industry. He is also a partner at Rule/Boston Camera Rental Co., a leading provider of production equipment and services.

A founding member of the Massachusetts Production Coalition, John served as co-chair of the advocacy committee, where he was instrumental in drafting the historic film tax credit legislation that has bolstered the state's production industry. As a member of IATSE Local 600, the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG), John holds the prestigious classification of Director of Photography, underscoring his expertise behind the camera.

Political and Advocacy Work

John has extended his influence beyond the entertainment industry into political advocacy. He has founded and managed PACs and Super PACs at both state and federal levels, focusing on policies that support creative industries and labor rights. Currently, he serves as the Manager of the NE Motion Picture and Television Producers Association, where he continues to advocate for the growth and sustainability of the regional production industry.
